The current energy crisis is leading French consumers (households, local authorities, companies) to significantly reduce their energy consumption, as encouraged by the public authorities, particularly through “energy sobriety” actions. Such reductions in energy demand also appear to be decisive in the longer term to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050, but require the adoption of new ways of using energy and possibly changing lifestyles. This crisis context and how energy consumers will adapt are worth observing closely as they will provide indications on the possible levers that can also be activated as a priority and in the long-term to face the climate crisis.
