Notice to candidates for the CNRS competitions interested in joining the Interdisciplinary Institute for Innovation (i3) teams


The Interdisciplinary Institute for Innovation (i3), UMR 9217, will decide in December on the candidates it will support for the recruitment campaign for CNRS researchers (chargés de recherche).



This institute is open to candidates in the following sections:

  • 03 (Information sciences: signals, images, languages, automation, robotics, interactions, integrated hardware-software systems) 
  • 28 (Brain, cognition, behavior)
  • 36 (Language sciences)
  • 39 (Sociology and legal studies)
  • 40 (Economics and management)
  • 42 (Spaces, territories, and societies)
  • 43 (Politics, power, organization)
  • CID 52 (Socio-ecosystems and global environmental change: issues, knowledge, methodologies)
  • CID 53 (Humans, societies, physical and digital technologies)

Candidates applying for the 2025/26 CNRS recruitment campaign who wish to request support from I3 are invited to contact one of its designated team contacts (see below) by 25 November 2025. They should also provide the following documents:

  • a 2-3 page pre-project,
  • a CV (including a list of publications and a summary of the thesis),
  • the thesis defense report or pre-reports if the thesis has not yet been defended,
  • a short cover letter explaining the choice of i3, in line with its research themes and the choice of host team (CRG, CERNA, CGS, CSI, SES).

Applications will be examined at team level and by the UMR. Shortlisted candidates will receive support from i3 members in preparation for the competition.
