The award ceremony for the 2012 Dufrénoy Prize for Responsible Innovation will take place at Mines ParisTech on Monday, 18 June, 6:30pm. The event will stand as an outstanding milestone in the public discussion of responsible innovation in finance carried out at the Observatory for Responsible Innovation. The award signals indeed three remarkable initiatives that illustrate the directions that responsible innovation ought to take in the financial services industry: the award goes to the Reserve Bank of India for its precautionary approach to the regulation of derivative markets, to EGAMO for the development of cooperative democratic principles in asset management and to MyHemera for its potentials for a transparent assessment of complex financial products (the three initiatives will be briefly presented during the ceremony).
Mr Romain Soubeyran, Director of Mines ParisTech, will open the ceremony at 6:30pm with a welcome address, followed by a speech on responsible innovation by Pr Michel Callon, Honorary President of the Observatory for Responsible Innovation. Shri G. Padmanabhan, Executive Director of the Reserve Bank of India and Smt Shyamala Gopinath, former Deputy Governor, will deliver an acceptance speech, followed by a commentary by Mrs Anne Le Lorier, First Deputy Governor of the Banque de France, and Mr Edouard Vieillefond, Deputy Secretary General of the Autorité des Marchés Financiers. A second acceptance speech will follow with Mr Fabrice Henry, President of EGAMO (the asset management service of MGEN), and Mr Nicolas Demont, Executive Director, with a commentary by Mr Arié Boleslawski, Global Head of Structured Trading, Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking. The third and final acceptance speech will be delivered by Mr Eric Lepage, Director of Hemera Finance Concept, followed by a commentary by Mr Oliver Burkart, European Securities and Markets Authority.
