Maja Horst will give a public lecture on her latest work on scientific innovation and responsibility. The event is organized in the framework of the European project SCALINGS.

Maja Horst is a professor in communication sciences, and is head of the Department of Media, Cognition and Communication at the University of Copenhaguen. Her current work focus on science communication as a cultural phenomenon, scientific social responsibility, the sociel role of universities, and research communication through installations and events.

Her presentation will be followed by a discussion introduced by Morgan Meyer, CNRS Research director at the Centre de sociologie de l’innovation, Mines ParisTech, Stefan Kuhlmann, chair of the Department Science, Technology, and Policy Studies (STəPS) of the University of Twente, and Jack Stilgoe, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Science and Technology Studies (STS) of University College London.

The European research project SCALINGS (Scaling up Co-creation) focuses on experimental forms of innovation and their replication. It aims at analyzing co-creation practices involving public and private actors, experts and amateurs, major companies and start-ups, which are often developed as test beds, living labs or experiments. What are the consequences of “co-creation”? How can the replication and scaling up of co-creation be envisaged? SCALINGS examines these issues in three areas, robotics, energy for urban applications and autonomous vehicles.
