associated with self-quantification practices


Eric Dagiral, Lecturer in sociology at Université Paris Descartes, Researcher at the Centre de recherche sur les liens sociaux – Cerlis, Anne-Sylvie Pharabod, Researcher in the SENSE department of Orange Labs, and Aude Danieli sociologist, Université Paris Descartes, Researcher at Centre de recherche sur les liens sociaux – Cerlis.

Based on two articles published in issue 216 of the journal Réseaux devoted to “Quantified Self” and the current survey (ANR project “Quantiself”), the discussion will focus on the analysis of engagement in self-tracking practices and on the understanding of the forms of sharing and exchange related to the data generated. The session will be an opportunity to present the behind-the-scenes of the questionnaire and in-depth interviews collective survey and the specificities inherent to working on digital practices that are at the same time banal, tenuous and yet extensively discussed. Finally, preliminary analytic findings relating to the forms of circulation and discussion of these practices and to the figures produced will be presented.

i3 seminar “Analysis of online participation”

The “Analysis of Online Participation” (APeL) seminar aims to develop reflection on approaches to the use of data about the online usage and participation. The seminar is a place for researchers from various backgrounds to meet and exchange knowledge, practices and know-how. At each session, the seminar guests present and discuss the “making of” of one of their researches: construction of the survey, specificities of the data engineering implemented, tools for capturing / building corpora, analysis strategies and tools used, etc.
